You would expect him to change quickly and become overpowered like many other protagonists, but MC's journey is one that is slow and filled with conflict. Random chat is about the character growth of a bullied high school student, who starts off as a weak, low self-esteemed, pathetic loser. However, the next 150 chapters that I read would blow me away. When I first came across this story, the art looked weird and I honestly didn't have much of an expectation. Random Chat is one of those manhwa that seems to have no depth to it from the outside. But the stuff that's good more than makes up for the bad. There are some problems like the artwork isn't that great and some of the villains overstay their welcome. The cast of characters is great, allowing everyone to have a moment to shine and grow. When he messes up he gets called out on that and he has to deal with the consequences of his actions. The thing I like the most is how this isn't a story where the world is always on the Depression, stalking, obsession, entitlement, self-worth, misinformation, respect, pressure, and many more.Įach arc talks about themes regarding how people behave and think and each of them is handled super well. There are a lot of interesting themes being tackled, talked about, and explored in this series. It's about this boy that has an app that allows him to chat with a girl from his class without her knowing it's him and all the good and bad (mostly bad) things that come from it.
